To all wordpress users out there, if you have noticed in your WordPress dashboard, you can see the option to upgrade to the latest wordpress version 2.9.2. Before you upgrade , this is the vulnerabilities from the previous version from 2.9.x up from the official site

Thomas Mackenzie alerted us to a problem where logged in users can peek at trashed posts belonging to other authors. If you have untrusted users signed up on your blog and sensitive posts in the trash, you should upgrade to 2.9.2.

If your WordPress blog have many users, all of them including those with subscriber roles, can have access to all deleted articles that have been moved to the trash. So anyone in your user account can read your trash post or data.

It is not really good if you have more than one authors/users especially if you don’t know that particular someone, he/she might be able to see you trashed posts which already contains your draft (for example.. passwords, pin accounts, personal (too personal) blog topics which you decide not to post, etc.

But that is rarely seen to personal bloggers which has more than one author (right?), might as well stay with the current version and upgrade for the next version.

I have been looking for an email client that can handle various emails as well as to organize them, as I research the web I narrowed my choices into two, that is the Microsoft Mozilla Outlook and the Microsoft Outlook.

I have used Microsoft Outlook at look for a very long time now, and so far, it is very good in terms of organizing email and not to mention the synchronization capabilities with different software applications and other utilities. Yep, I used it a lot especially with my projects and I can’t really say something negative really. But there is just one thing, it’s “Windows” (no offense). Personally, I prefer something free (open source that is). And I found this other email client (actually the second in the list next to outlook). The Mozilla thunderbird, as expected from an open source, its free! (duh), and it also supports different mail clients and has functionality similar to outlook. It is also lightweight which means , you don’t have to install the whole package (like Microsoft Office) in the system.

Setting up thunderbird is also easy and straightforward, they have also an option to setup directly for gmail(google) account and sets it up fairly simple. It is really important to organize your emails especially when you have lots of them and organize them accordingly to your preference.

Download Thunderbird for free here.

Install Eclipse Here

Here are the steps.

1. Open eclipse, select Help -> Software Updates -> ‘find and install’ in the top menu
2. On the screen that is displayed, select ‘Search for new features to install‘ and click the ‘Next‘ button
3. Now click the ‘New Remote Site‘ button
4. Enter a name for the update site, for example “CFEclipse”. In the URL box, enter http://www.cfeclipse.org/update and click the OK button
5. You should now have a ‘CFEclipse‘ node in the ‘Sites to include in search‘ box. Select “Finish”.
6. Yo should now see the versions of CFEclipse Expand the CFEclipse node and you will see two child nodes: ‘CFeclipse CFML Editor(Required)‘ and ‘CfEclipse DocShare Support(Optional)‘
7. Tick the ‘CFeclipse CFML Editor(Required)‘ box and click ‘Next‘
8. Eclipse will contact the CFEclipse site and retrieve the list of available plugins. Tick the plugin with the highest version number and click ‘Next‘
9. The next instructions are self-explanatory, agree to the license, install the software and restart Eclipse
10. Once Eclipse has restarted CFEclipse should have been successfully installed

Recently, I have been searching all over the web about web hosting companies. Since my blog has been around for more than a year now, and I have purchased a domain for it. I think it is time for me to move to hosting my own site, I have been using free blogging services which is not that bad if you are just starting a blog or a blogsite. Also, having your own webhost has its advantage, you can control everything in your site from the designs and the layout without any restrictions. Having your own host also will help your site look professional and has a higher presence when it comes to search engines or SEO.

Finding the right webhost is easier said than done, from my research on the internet. I have visited different reviews, each with their own picks(webhost) and their own rankings, first I am pessimistic about some of the review, it seems that some are just advertising their own choices and not really look carefully about which is the right hosting for everybody.

I have read many web hosting reviews and I found a site which for me offers the best reviews and comparisons for my webhosting needs. I have read their blog about finding the right web host and I am very satisfied with the results. I find their reviews unbiased and doesn’t post the reviews to advertise but to give the right description of a certain web host site.

The site offers variety of hosting options for those who want to purchase a web host. They categorized their options for users to choose which to choose depending on their specialties. They also have the hosting awards for the best in their respective categories or the web host main strength. For those who want to have information about web host and which one to choose. Visit the site for more information.
