An event which is one of the most popular and satisfying of all, the “School Graduation”. Another batch of students are taking on a new journey in their life as school life ends. In graduation ceremonies, many expected to end of a chapter of their of life which is considered the most fun and complicated experience which is school life. I am addressing this article more to those who will be leaving college/school life. True that it is a bit nostalgic in my part because it does bring back all the memories, the fun, melodramatic scenes, crushes, canteen food, school breaks, exams, teachers and everything you can experience in a school life.

As the saying goes.. all good things must come to an end, including the not so good things. So it cannot be a overall bad thing after all, isn’t it?. I mean who would not want to go outside and experience what the real world would be like (except those who are not ready). Though it still depends upon the readiness and preparation of the graduates. Currently more will be added in the job hunters and knowing the state of employment here in the country, it can be a nerve wracking experience especially when you are not confident enough to take on the job hunting process (resume, interview, requirements, etc).

This milestone event does not only give you assurance but also a kind relief (school requirements, exams, cramming, tuition) not only in your part but to also the people around you especially your parents or the one supporting your tuition payments. Give them credit. Your classmates who have been in your side for better (exams, night outs XD ) or for worse (absences, night outs, bad habits, haha), don’t forget theme (add them in FB :D )

I know school life will be missed, this not the end of the so called happiness(in school life) because I tell you, there is more out there in the real world and anything can happen for better or for worse. Enjoy life and congratulations to all the 2012 graduates. :)

If you have been into Facebook lately (who doesn’t) and twitter. You can see various posts and most trending topic at this moment. It’s amazing how social media affect the persons perspective and even curiosity when it comes to what the society talks about whether it is a certain application, product, food and services. Many cannot even resist it and eventually will try that particular product or service, in short, go with the flow.. definitely a very good social media marketing strategy (whether intended or not).

SimSimi is a popular artificial intelligence conversation program that was created in 2002 by ISMaker.” source wiki

First is the Simsimi application which is getting popular today, though it is not a really new concept. It was created in 2002 by the Korean tech company ISMake. A chat simulator that answers all your question in a sort of online conversation. I don’t know if this is just a over hype or something because chat simulations are not really new in the web. In fact, there are other ones that came first to the scene like cleverbot. Maybe the attractive yellowish interactive interface sort of chatroom that attracts not only the young generations but also the old timers :) .

The Simsimi application is available in their website and also in mobile phone (apple, android), I have tried it and it is not that complicated to use, it’s just basic inputting words to your chat or word and it will respond with the closest related answer or reply (it will even answer your queries in your own local language :D ). The unique thing about simsimi is that you can teach it, meaning you can add answers to specific questions you provided and it will help control the response as well as add it to its vocabulary provided a more control to the conversation (especially when someone type your name or other personal stuff).

Magnum is an ice cream brand owned by the British/Dutch Unilever company, and sold as part of the Heartbrand line of products in most countries. It was originally made by Frisko in Aarhus, Denmark.”

Second is the highly hype Magnum ice cream, At first, I was really surprised about the popularity of the new ice cream product imported from Belgium to Selecta and seeing the response from the people both online and offline, I even see long lines in the stores as if it is a box office movie and it cost more than any ice cream of its size (50-60 pesos). Some stores even run out of magnum ice cream like a rare piece of gem or something. I almost remembered the tivoli and funwich in a very similar scenario. I saw their TV ad which is just a normal made ad, which the end states that “Now available in the Philippines”. I haven’t really tried it myself and I will not go with out with the mob and and try one just for the sake of tasting it and be included in the list of overhype-product-first-taste people, hahah

These are the latest product/application trends of today and will continually be a witness of these emerging and overhyped products as long as it is shared and constantly in your friends ,PC monitors, mobile, television view. You will almost have little choice but succumbed to the hype. :)

The Popular 'Butanding' Whale Shark Watching

This post might be a little late in terms online visits due to its popularity and the number of people (including other bloggers) that have spread the news and make a post of about (it even reach national television for that matter). But it was truly a very great experience even if many had came to the popular butanding (bisaya for whale shark) in Oslob, which is located in the far southern part of Cebu.

To get to Oslob by the way, you have to ride a Bus or a car(if can endure the long hours of travel/drive). Indeed it was a long ride to get there, from the City Proper (south bus terminal) to the Oslob province is a 3 hours travel time approximately. And it is also advisable to travel early in the morning for better spot and to avoid large crowds in the whale shark watching. The place really is not that difficult to find due to large trampolines and banners along the road (in Oslob proper).

Upon arrival you will be required to attend the seminar which is kinda good because we will be able to know the rules and guidelines in the Whale shark watching. Actually it was implemented by the Oslob municipality (the government actually just get involved in the business) has strict implementations to not harm the Whale Shark in the process or destroy its ecosystem (I think there are laws pertaining to that). It is actually to regulate those kinds of rules to control the activities and keep the Whale Sharks safe and sound  but the downside is that the fee is higher than before :/

So there in the briefing section we were told to keep a distance to avoid any injuries to both (audience and whaleshark) and keep proper etiquette like not throwing any food, splashing near the sharks, don’t wear sunblock so that they will not be poisoned (really?) and ask permission when jumping out of the boat. We also paid 300 hundred pesos for the entrance fee including the the banca boat ride to the whale sharks. We also paid 50 pesos for the life vest (I actually don’t need one :P , but it is in their strict implementation). So there it is the briefing session before the actual ride.

You will ride the banca (small boat) to get to the whale sharks as they reside in the deep waters, maybe not that far , maybe about 500 meters from the shore. You will also go with the other banca boats with other whale shark watchers. There you will see about 2 -3 Whale Sharks near a Banca , actually they feed the whale sharks with something so that they will go near to the banca in order to get a better view for the visitors , you are also allowed to watch them closely by swimming near it but not too close.

It was really an amazing experience because it was my first time to get near a very big fish (whale shark) and not on a plate or something,haha.. Too bad I didn’t bring my cam on the actual boat riding because of safety issues of my cam (don’t have water protection) nevertheless the ambiance is very great for whale shark watching along with a good weather . Hope they will not abuse the popularity of the whale shark watching and ignore of the whale sharks safety and take advantage of tourist and visitors. Maybe have more control of some of crowds and tourist watching by following the rules and guidelines for the safety of both.
