I’M CELEBRATING WORLD BLOGGERS’ DAY 2012

Theme: It’s More Fun in Blogging and Social Media

Initiated by Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc.

Years ago, the thought of blogging was just a past time, a hobby and an expression. Some even regarded it as only a venue to ramble feelings and experiences. Since then, the evolution of blogging has been more credible, informative and most of all fun. It is indeed fun in the sense that not only you can share your ideas and information, you will also have the opportunity to interact with fellow bloggers as well, meeting up new people by going to events and just expand you horizon by just being in the moment and further expand your knowledge and perception around you and doing all of that while having fun visiting new places and venues.

Blogging is even more fun when you share it in the Social Media world, getting comments and good feedbacks from different types of people is really something and can inspire you more to blog and critics make you tougher. Even being recognized by other sectors of society by promoting wellness and advocacy to further reach the community through blogs. Passion is one factor in blogging but having fun despite of all the hectic schedule whether at work, school, family etc is what makes it all worth it.

Today we celebrate the day of the hardworking bloggers who dedicate their time and effort in providing information and sharing their ideas and experience to the social media world. Nothing could be more rewarding than celebrating it with the fellow bloggers not only locally but around the world.

From Cebu and to its local blogosphere, the core of the organizing committee reached out to other parts of the world where bloggers dwell, live, and blog. World Bloggers’ Day 2012 brings the bloggers from different continents to join, interact, and simultaneously bring noise to the world about blogging. Source: World Bloggers Day

Spearheaded by Cebu Bloggers Society, the event takes place by either meetups offline or online, or just a venue wherein we can interact and really feel the essence of unity and acknowledgment among all the bloggers present. This year, the World Bloggers Day awarding event will be held at Diamond Suites and Residences. It is also supported by GLOBE Tatt Awards and you can also get the chance to nominate your favorite blogs and be recognized.

One of Asia’s first and leading blog advertising community will be coming here in Cebu for the “South Out: The Cebu Invasion” a bloggers meet and greet, establishing presence and finding potential talents event. Fortunately, I am residing here so I can spread the world to fellow Cebuano bloggers out there. This will be also a great opportunity to establish presence here in the Queen City of the South and one of the most progressive and fast developing city in the Philippines. Since blogging is continually growing here in Cebu and blog organizations are even established (Cebu Bloggers Society) in order to promote Cebu and blogging to the community.

I have been to various events and I believe that this is a big opportunity to show fellow bloggers/Nuffnangers the beauty of Cebu as one of the center of innovation and development here in the Philippines in terms of social media hub. Not only that Cebu has a rich culture not to mention the various beautiful destinations and attractions (beautiful ladies include :D ), You also can find great places to visit and enjoy the hospitality of the people and also good food.

Given the opportunity to be one of the tour guide for Nuffnang. I would take them to the Butanding Watching which is very popular here in Cebu not only for locals but to foreigners as well, it is located in the Oslob Province Southern part of Cebu, You can also enjoy the sceneries during the trip and visit other historical spots like churches, museums and have fun in the beautiful beaches there. Then there is the the annual “Kadaugan Street Party” which will be a two night festival event staring April 27-28, which is just in time for the Nuffnang visit and maybe join the party the night after the meetup event.

I know many of us are busy with the long holy/vacation/rest week, anyhow, let us not forget the true meaning of Holy week and always be thankful to Him for everything that happens in our lives so far (whether good or bad).

Holy Week is the last week of Lent and is the week before Easter Sunday (also known as Easter Day). It starts on Palm Sunday and finishes with the celebration of Easter Sunday. In many churches, during Holy Week, special services are held on everyday up to and including Good Friday.

Maundy Thursday is the Thursday of Holy Week. It represents the day that the Jewish Passover was celebrated in the Bible Story of Easter.

Maundy comes from Latin and is the word for ‘Command’, this is because Jesus commanded his followers to think of him when they ate bread and drank wine. This is very important to Christians and is now remembered in the Christian service known as Communion, Mass or Eucharist.

The ‘Good’ in Good Friday comes from old English when Good meant Holy. So you could call Good Friday, ‘Holy Friday’.

On Good Friday, Christians remember that Jesus died for everyone. He was crucified by the Romans on a hill outside Jerusalem although he had not done anything wrong. When a person was crucified, they were tied and nailed by the wrists and feet to a large wooden cross or scaffold and left to die. This is why a cross if often used as a symbol of the Christian faith.

Black Saturday represents the one full day that Jesus was dead. Is is also sometimes known as Holy Saturday.

This day is also sometimes incorrectly called Easter Saturday (and was by me until I learnt better!). Easter Saturday is the Saturday following Easter Sunday, not the day between Good Friday and Easter Sunday!

Easter Sunday or Easter Day is the most important day of the year for Christians. It is when they celebrate that three days after being killed, Jesus rose from the dead.

Easter is a religious holiday that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his death by crucifixion some 2,000 years ago. For Christians, Easter is a day of religious services and the gathering of family.

In many churches Easter is preceded by a season of prayer, abstinence, and fasting called Lent. This is observed in memory of the 40 days’ fast of Christ in the desert. In Eastern Orthodox churches Lent is 50 days. In Western Christendom Lent is observed for six weeks and four days.
