Last September 12, the House of Representatives voted 119-32 to give the Commission on Human Rights a budget of P1,000 only since the Filipinos blows the agency in protecting criminals, victims of EJK and abuses from policemen.

On Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez’ Instagram account, netizens ask her about her vote on the budget of the Commission of Human Rights (CHR) since the list of the 32 representatives who voted “No” or agree to the proposed P649.484 million budget was released.

Since the list of the 119 is unavailable, netizens have taken her post to ask on her vote.

Here is the said post from her Instagram account:

Netizens were able to capture the comment of Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez that was later on deleted.

The congressmen voted for what is good for their own districts.”

“That is why they are also called representatives, they represent their own districts.”

“Ano ba ang [distrito] nyo? Ano ba ang pinili ng congressman nyo?

“Sana tumakbo na din kayo para yung ingay nyo sa social media dun nyo dalhin sa kongreso.”

This caused a netizen to wonder why Ormoc City Mayor and husband of Lucy Torres-Gomez was defensive over a yes or no question.

“I don’t know why you’re upset… I think Lucy is her own woman and can pretty much defend herself for whatever decision she chose,” noted one Instagram user.

“She is a congresswoman and we deserve transparency from her…Don’t say we’re just making noise…We just really deserve to know.”

As of this writing, Congressman Lucy Torres-Gomez remains silent. She was previously one of the majority who voted in favor of Martial Law in Mindanao and the Death Penalty.
