Is SOPA Really Dead??

I hope this the beginning of the end of SOPA and PIPA….. After the Megaupload Arrests and the millions of Facebook Shares, views , critics and even gags and SOPA Author gag. The SOPA Author has finally come to his senses with all the bashing from people and maybe even from his family and relatives.

The Texas legislator who proposed SOPA today withdrew the bill “until there is wider agreement on a solution,” reports show.

A Reuters report shows that Republican U.S. Rep. Lamar Smith, the head of the House Judiciary Committee, told the news service, “It is clear that we need to revisit the approach on how best to address the problem of foreign thieves that steal and sell American inventions and products.”

Facebook weighed in on the decision by posting a message on their Washington, DC page: “We are relieved that Congress has recognized the serious damage the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA) and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) could cause to the Internet and are pleased that congressional leaders have decided not to move forward on these bills.”

I hope SOPA is gone and dead for good, now next is PIPA, long live internet freedom!

  1. “….revisit the approach on how best to address the problem of foreign thieves…” now this is what im talking about.. this is better na jud… waa i hope for the best. im sooo glad! hehe thanks so much for the updates Jerminix! for a minute there i was not breathing lol~ because to think of it.. 2. What is this? I really don’t know what’s this about 🙁 I really want to have the freedom in the net. Like seriously, everything now have the COPYRIGHT issue. Videos in YouTube also have the MUTE, COPYRIGHT, DISABLED VIDEO, TERMINATED ACCOUNTS. I don’t really understand. I hope the law will give us freedom when it comes to the internet world lalo na if wala naman tayong naaapakang individuals.

  3. I don’t understand kung bakit ginagawa nila yan. Kasakiman? Well bye SOPA. And soon to say goodbye to PIPA too.

  4. I hope they won’t really push this anymore. Hahaha. It would seriously cause a great damage to the internet, and it could even discourage millions of people on using the net.

  5. Sana hindi na matuloy yung PIPA. Kawawa naman yung iba na nagre-rely lang sa mga nakukuha nila sa internet, since they don’t have all the resources to buy or acquire it elsewhere.

  6. Whew! Finally! Buti naman… Sabi nga, there’s no oil in the internet so give it up Americans. Lol.

  7. Hi I was wondering what theme you are using for your site? It appears awesome!|
