A recent post from a blog saying that Mark Zuckerberg – CEO of Facebook , released a statement about the porn attacks came, well, from the Philippines, whether it is already officially confirmed or not (whether true or not). It is a very strong statement as well as a warning to not abuse social networking sites. Remember the Love Bug Virus anyone?

Here is the statement

The porn attacks originated in the Philippines and are being published by Filipinos all over Facebook, our experts here at Facebook are doing everything they can to stop it from spreading any further (outside the Philippines) and to eliminate the porn and spam threat completely which have been causing other Facebook users ‘a hard time’. Filipinos should also be vigilant and report any spam links and pornographic materials. 41% of Facebook members around the world are aged 12-17 years old, we cannot be exposed to this kinds of things through Facebook. If this continues and more spams keep being posted, we will have no choice but to ban Philippine users from using Facebook. We at Facebook will not tolerate outlandish behavior and indecency.

Going back to the question. Will Facebook Ban Philippine Users in their System?, in terms in the capability to that , Yes, they can “BAN” any one, just by locating the geographical location and other details, it is seemingly possible. But to think that most/many of the population in Facebook came from the Philippines, they will also think about the loses in terms of site visits , advertisements, etc. It is also a possible big loss.

That is just to show everyone the intelligence of the Filipinos but then used in a wrongly manner, it is really a big news if you know the magnitude to those who will be affected. For instance the media , companies, even ordinary people who already rely on Facebook in their daily lives.

Economy may also be affected with some of the businesses rely on social networking (Facebook) in their marketing and sales, which can have a ripple effect. Also in media and personalities wherein many of the information and news are relayed through their fan pages.

And most of all the ordinary users, which some already Facebook as part of their daily lives (like a meal or so). The thing is that there is very little we can do to stop this and the only way is to prevent or even stop clicking those spam links and be careful in clicking ads or even adding friends.

I already posted a tutorial on How to Fixed Facebook Spam and Hacked Account, Let us (Filipinos) help one another in preventing this to happen by stop clicking or viewing malicious links, pictures and videos (hoax or not).

Will update if the News is really true or not, Hoax, Fictional, etc.. Post you comment for anything else.

Update:

Now here is another explanation of the recent spate of porn spams and scams….that has nothing to do with the allegation of Mark Zuckerberg:
